In Jammu and Kashmir, there is an atmosphere of panic due to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. On the other hand, Shraddha has left behind fear towards mother Kheer Bhavani. Thousands of devotees throng to the Kheer Bhavani temple in Tulmula in Ganderbal district on the occasion of Mata’s birth anniversary. The temple complex has resonated with the shouts and faith of the devotees, which shows that the roots of faith in the valley are deeper than terror.

Like every year, this time too, the birth anniversary of Mata Rani is being celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion in the Kheer Bhavani temple. The crowd gathered in the temple has once again proved that faith in Kashmir never bowed down in front of terror.

Kheer Bhavani Temple and its recognition

Kheer Bhavani Temple located in Tulmula is not only the center of religious faith, but the water present in its pool is considered as the water of the Goddess. This water changes its color from time to time, which is associated with auspicious and inauspicious signs. It is believed that the water of Goddess Ragha Devi (Kheer Bhavani) indicates the future of Kashmir and the world. Devotees see this as a symbol of the mood of the Goddess and the prediction of the upcoming events.

Green and Blue Color – A symbol of peace, prosperity and auspicious time

Red and Black Color – Indication of crisis, destruction and disturbance

Every year this water appears in different colors and according to it, speculations are made about possible incidents in the valley.

Prophet turned out to be right in history many times

The color of water in this holy pool was changed many times before big events and that prediction also proved to be true.

1990 – Kund water was black, the same year Kashmiri Pandits migrated

1999 – Water color appears inauspicious even before Kargil War

2014 – Red color seen before chemical blood tragedy

2020-Water was seen to deepen even during Covid-19 epidemic

Despite the attack and danger, thousands of devotees reached the temple and visited the mother and offered milk and water and asked for their wishes. This devotion makes it clear that whatever the upheaval in Kashmir is, religious faith is always maintained.
