The One Show viewers were left confused as the BBC show made a huge change live on air on Tuesday (June 3).

During today's episode of the hit BBC programme, hosts Alex Jones and Clara Amfo discussed the latest headlines from across the UK and around the world.

They also spoke to actors Orlando Bloom and Nick Mohammed about their new British action comedy, Deep Cover, as well as TV presenter Fern Britton, who discussed her latest novel, A Cornish Legacy.

Later in the show, Alex and Clara interviewed Tina Knowles about her new memoir, Matriarch.

The book delves into Tina's life, exploring her grief, tragedy, love and heartbreak, as well as the nurturing of her superstar daughters, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Solange Knowles.

However, the show's viewers were left confused as Tina didn't join the other guests on the green sofa, but was instead sat in a different part of the studio.

"I wonder if guests negotiate specially to be interviewed in this separate space, away from the riffraff on the main sofa," one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Another added: "Tina gets her own sofa #TheOneShow," while a third said: "Why wasn't she sat on the sofa with the guests? #TheOneShow."

Meanwhile, other viewers wondered whether the segment was pre-recorded, with one person writing: "Never known anyone do this, assuming it's pre-recorded."

During the interview, Tina discussed the importance of writing her memoir, saying: "I have just been behind the scenes for pretty much [my daughters] whole career, so this was a big step for me to come out.

"It's been a wonderful journey, I've learned so much from writing this book. It was very necessary to look at all the things, the good and the bad, that have happened in my life, and for me to tell it from my own words.

"We're in a time where there are so many rumours, and I just wanted to set the record straight on so many things. It's been a great healing journey for me."

Tina went on to explain that she started recording excerpts of the book over 12 years ago, with the initial plan of leaving it for her grandchildren. However, she felt that it was something that could help people, so decided to publish it.

The One Show airs weeknights on BBC One at 7pm
