The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds over several parts of Madhya Pradesh for the next few days, extending till June 7. Wind speeds may reach 40–50 kmph in many areas, with certain pockets of West Madhya Pradesh experiencing thundersqualls reaching up to 60–70 kmph between June 3 and June 4.

Light to moderate rainfall is expected at several locations across the state during this period. The IMD attributes this weather activity to an upper air cyclonic circulation affecting parts of Central India, along with a north-south trough across eastern India.

Farmers and residents are advised to take necessary precautions, especially in areas prone to strong winds or where outdoor work is common. The weather department has not reported any heatwave warnings for Madhya Pradesh at this time, unlike in parts of Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal.

Meanwhile, the monsoon’s northern limit currently passes through Ahilyanagar in Madhya Pradesh, indicating the slow but steady progress of the southwest monsoon across the country.

Authorities may issue district-wise alerts depending on evolving conditions. For the latest updates, people are encouraged to monitor IMD advisories and local bulletins.
