The tragic and brutal murder of 17-year-old TikToker Sana Yousaf has shocked the nation, sparking outrage and demands for justice across social media. Sana’s father, Anwar-ul-Haq, has released his first statement, appealing to the government to ensure justice is served.

According to initial reports, Sana Yousaf was allegedly murdered by a man named Umar Hayat, also known as “Kaka,” who broke into her home in Islamabad and fatally shot her. The suspect then fled to Faisalabad.

On June 3, police arrested the alleged killer in Faisalabad. During questioning, Umar Hayat claimed to be a friend of the victim. However, Islamabad IG Ali Nasir Rizvi revealed that the suspect had wanted to start a relationship with Sana, but she had repeatedly rejected his advances.

Unable to handle the rejection, the suspect is believed to have taken the horrifying step of shooting Sana twice in the chest, resulting in her death.

Sana Yousaf was originally from the village of Chuinj in Upper Chitral and was the daughter of a well-known and active social worker. Her father, Anwar-ul-Haq, is also a prominent member of the “Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz Huqooq-e-Chitral” (Movement for the Protection of Chitral’s Rights).

During the ongoing investigation, a video message from Anwar-ul-Haq emerged in which he spoke about the tragedy. “This incident was completely unexpected. I had no enmity, no conflict with anyone—it was a sudden and heartbreaking tragedy,” he said.

In his message, Anwar-ul-Haq appealed to the government, saying, “The perpetrator must be brought to justice. It is the responsibility of the authorities to ensure that he is held accountable. I ask for justice for my daughter.”

He further added, “I belong to Chitral, and everyone knows how peaceful the people of Chitral are. We avoid conflicts and do not seek violence.”

Sana Yousaf’s murder has triggered widespread grief and anger, with social media users calling for the harshest punishment for the accused. The nation now watches closely as authorities continue their investigation and the legal process unfolds.
