Everyone is well aware of the bitter past between actress Mahira Khan and drama writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, but a recent development has taken many by surprise.
Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar — a renowned drama writer, poet, and author — recently sent a message to Mahira Khan in response to a statement she made in a recent podcast.
In an interview, Qamar revealed that Mahira admitted during the podcast that instead of tweeting against him, she should have called him directly to talk.
Qamar responded by saying, “That shows Mahira Khan’s grace. I have great respect for her. There has always been a relationship of mutual respect between us.”
He added, “Whenever I criticized Mahira Khan, it hurt me as well.” The writer further shared that after listening to her recent comments, he sent her a message saying, “From today onwards, I have no complaints against you.”
It’s worth noting that a few days ago, during a podcast, Mahira Khan recalled a past incident and admitted that the criticism she directed at Qamar was an emotional reaction. She said she should have spoken to him directly.
“If you think I was wrong, then yes, I was wrong,” Mahira stated. “I should have messaged him. He’s right — I should’ve spoken to him directly.”
It should be remembered that Mahira Khan had criticized Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar following his on-air argument with activist Marvi Sirmad, which led to Qamar expressing his displeasure at her remarks.
Earlier, Renowned Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has openly addressed her past conflict with writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar and the ongoing criticism from veteran actor Firdous Jamal. She spoke candidly during her appearance on Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast Excuse Me.
During the conversation, Mahira reflected on her professional relationship with Qamar, particularly their work on the hit drama Sadqay Tumhare, which was written by him. “We were never friends, but we did Sadqay Tumhare with love because it was his story,” she said.
