Bruno Fernandes has chosen to stay with Manchester United, turning down a lucrative offer from Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League. Despite the chance to double his salary and join fellow Portuguese players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Ruben Neves, and Joao Cancelo, Fernandes prioritised playing at the highest level.

He remains committed to Manchester United, where he has played 290 matches and scored 98 goals since January 2020.

The decision to stay was influenced by discussions with his family and encouragement from Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim. Fernandes expressed his desire to continue competing in major tournaments and maintain his happiness in football. "I want to play at the highest possible level," he stated. "I want to play major competitions. I know I still can, and I want to be happy doing the thing I love the most."

Manchester United made it clear they were not eager to sell Fernandes. The club communicated that while he could leave if he wished, they did not require the financial gain from his transfer. This assurance further solidified Fernandes' choice to remain at Old Trafford.

Fernandes is expected to play a crucial role for Portugal in their upcoming Nations League semi-final against Germany at Allianz Arena. His presence is vital as Portugal aims for their second appearance in a Nations League final.

Reflecting on his decision, Fernandes shared insights into his passion for football: "For better or worse, this is how I see football, and I'm passionate about football and this is the decision I've made." His commitment underscores his dedication to both club and country.

As Fernandes prepares for the match against Germany, fans eagerly anticipate seeing him lead Portugal on the field. His decision reflects a deep commitment to achieving success at both club and international levels.
