According to The StarPang updated his followers on Xiaohongshu, posting a video from his performance at the nightclub where he sang “Sky,” a classic hit originally by Cantopop group Beyond. The crowd enthusiastically sang along as Pang belted out the tune.
“I’m grateful that I can still use this body to perform for everyone,” Pang captioned the video. “I’ll keep going.”
Pang was diagnosed with stage three rectal cancer in July 2023, and has faced severe financial difficulties since then, taking a year off work to focus on his treatment. He revealed that he had borrowed HK$500,000 (US$63,716) to cover medical and living expenses, but has now exhausted the funds.
“No work means no income… My wife is working, but it’s hard for her to shoulder everything alone,” he said. “The money we borrowed is nearly gone. If this keeps up, we won’t make it.”
Despite these challenges, Pang remains optimistic.
“I want people to know that just because I’m sick doesn’t mean I can’t work. I’m still full of life. I can do this!” he declared.
Pang, 55, made his acting debut in 2003 and is known for his roles in “When Heaven Burns,” “The Hidden Town 2,” and “Task Force.”
