Following the tragic stampede during the recent Congress road show in Bengaluru, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has given a strong reply to the opposition by defending his government. In this accident, one person lost his life and many people were injured, after which questions were raised about the government’s capacity on the management of the mob.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah showed sharp reply to critics, giving a befitting reply to the critics. He defended the criticism of his government and asked that “50-60 people lost their lives in the Kumbh Mela, was the Karnataka government criticized then?” His gesture was towards the old events in Uttar Pradesh. Siddaramaiah insisted that his government is not afraid of criticism, but others should also look at the old events.

He said that this stampede was due to excessive uncontrolled, where people fell on each other. The Chief Minister also clarified that adequate arrangements were made for security, including a good number of barricades and police deployment. According to him, such unexpected accidents can occur in such big meetings.
