Barun Sobti’s journey from television heartthrob to critically acclaimed web series actor highlights his dedication to meaningful storytelling and artistic growth. In a recent conversation with Pinkvilla, the Kohrra star shared insights into his personal and professional life, revealing that creativity not money has always driven him. Sobti also candidly spoke about living with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), a condition that continues to shape his approach to work.
“I’m not materialistic at all. Money never drove me,” Barun replied, stating that he has always had an interest in creative fulfillment. “I discovered that these were the things that drove me when I was a little child… I’m ADHD anyway. I lose my mind if I’m not doing something that is fulfilling for me. But it took a little while to realize that.”

Denies Casting Rumours, Focused on Future Projects
Earlier this year, Barun was reported to be a part of the cast of Terre Ho Jaayein Hum opposite Priyanka Chahar Choudhary. A source, however, quickly shot down reports, saying, “These rumors are absolutely baseless. He was never approached and is otherwise occupied working on a film with a prominent filmmaker.”
The actor remains choosy with his work, choosing quality over quantity. Some of his latest works include superhits such as Asur, Asur 2, Kohrra, Badtameez Dil, and The Great Indian Dysfunctional Family. He first gained popularity in the TV world with the superhit Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, and went on to impress audiences in OTT entertainment as well with layered performances.
