More than 90,000 witnessed the IPL 2025 final on Tuesday, June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS). When you have a crowd as big as that, things are bound to get a little out of hand, and according to GSTV News, roughly 200 people attempted to gain entry to the stadium unlawfully with no valid tickets!
The news article stated that given the size of the crowd, some individuals were able to take advantage of the situation to sneak in. Although police quickly arrested apparent trespassers right at the beginning of the match. Adding insult to injury, also during the final last night, there were also reports of about 100 mobile phones being stolen. Complains were made and local police are conducting an investigation.
Star Sports reported that the match was attended by "90,879 fans that assembled in the stadium" for the final. The match was originally scheduled for Eden Gardens in Kolkata, but the match was moved to Ahmedabad because of weather concerns. RCB got a nail-biting six-run victory over PBKS and lifted their first-ever IPL trophy.

After RCB batted first, they produced 190/9 with their 20 overs. Former captain Virat Kohli was solid with an innings of 43 off 35. There were significant runs contributed from Rajat Patidar (26 off 16), Liam Livingstone (25 off 15) and Jitesh Sharma (24 off 10). For PBKS, Arshdeep Singh and Kyle Jamieson both picked up three wickets. During the PBKS innings a Shashank Singh barrelled his way to an unbeaten 61 of just 30 balls and kept their hopes alive.
Despite everything, RCB held onto their hopes courtesy of Krunal Pandya, who bowled admirably. The left-arm spinner gave away just 17 runs in his four overs while picking up the vital wickets of Prabhsimran Singh and Josh Inglis. This match-winning effort earned Krunal his second Man of the Match award in an IPL final, making him the first player to do so in league history.
