Ganga Dussehra is considered a very sacred and auspicious festival in Hinduism. This festival is celebrated in memory of the descent of Mother Ganga on earth. This festival, which falls on the tenth day of Jyeshtha month, is a symbol of religious faith and spiritual purification. In the year 2025, Ganga Dussehra will be celebrated on June 5. It is believed that bathing in the Ganges and worshiping Lord Shiva on this day is especially fruitful. If some special things are offered on Shivling on this day, then all wishes can be fulfilled and happiness, peace, and prosperity come to life.
Astrologer Akhilesh Pandey of Graha Sthanam located in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand said that bathing in the Ganges on Ganga Dussehra has special significance, but even if someone is unable to go to the banks of the Ganges, virtue can be attained by performing Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva at home. The festival of Ganga Dussehra is an excellent opportunity for self-purification and worship of God. On this day, worshiping Lord Shiva with reverence and devotion and offering special items on Shivling fulfills wishes. This festival inspires us to walk on the path of purity, service, and faith. If we worship on this day methodically, then every obstacle in life can be removed and the path of prosperity opens.
