How to Play NYT Connections

In NYT Connections, players receive a grid filled with words, and the objective is to identify the hidden connections among them. Consider synonyms, antonyms, and word families to solve the puzzle. To make accurate connections, you'll need to utilize your vocabulary and problem-solving abilities. If you encounter difficulties, the game provides helpful hints.

A new puzzle is available every day at midnight, and you can access it via the NYT website or app. Your task is to organize 16 words into four groups of four based on their connections. These groups can include clickable items, names of research participants, or words associated with body parts.

Each group is color-coded, with yellow typically being the easiest, followed by blue and green, while purple is often the most challenging, often involving wordplay.

Select four words that you believe belong together and click the ‘Submit’ button. If your guess is incorrect, you lose a life. However, if you're close to forming a correct group, you might receive a message indicating you're just one word away from success, requiring you to decide which word to swap. If you make four mistakes, the game ends.
