Arsenal are reportedly poised to land Greek wonderkid Konstantinos Karetsas from Genk with negotiations for the teenage sensation close to reaching a fruitful conclusion, according to sources in Greece. The 17-year-old midfield maestro has caught the eye of many top European clubs, including Real Madrid, since making his mark on senior football. However, it looks like the Gunners are at the forefront to secure his signature and bring him to the Premier League.

indicate that dialogue between Arsenal and Genk is progressing well. It's understood that a package deal of £38million is being discussed. If an agreement is sealed, Karetsas would return to Genk on loan for the 2025-26 season before officially joining Arsenal in the summer of 2026.

Should the deal go through, it would set a new record transfer fee for a Greek footballer, surpassing Kostas Manolas' record switch from Roma to Napoli for £30m in 2019.

Karetsas has long been on the radar of some of Europe's largest outfits, with Man City once courting the young prodigy. His father, Vaios Karetsas, revealed in an interview with a Dutch publication: "RB Leipzig, Milan and even Manchester City invited us several times to come and look; we didn't like it. The only team outside Genk where we had discussions was Ajax."

Giannis Karetsas has been turning heads in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League, playing for Genk, and he shone brightly in Greece's 3-0 thrashing of Scotland last March, notching his first goal for the senior international team.

Arsenal are gearing up for a busy summer transfer window with their sights set on Real Sociedad's creative midfielder, Martin Zubimendi, who looks set to finally make the switch to the Premier League following a successful medical.

The North London club is also on the hunt for a top-tier striker, with the situation still hazy on whether they will chase down deals for Viktor Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko, who have both been on their radar for a while.
