Almost a hundred thousand people present in the Ahmedabad Stadium erupted together with pure joy and ecstacy as the last ball of the 20th over was delivered by RCB's Josh Hazlewood. The deafening chants of "RCB...RCB...RCB" could have only meant one thing- the Royal Challengers Bengaluru had finally done it! They had just become the latest champions of the Indian Premier League, that too for the first time ever.
Virat Kohli, who has been with RCB since the first season couldn't control his emotions and broke down while four balls were still remaining in the match. PBKS needed 29 runs off 4 balls which was impossible in case only fair deliveries were bowled and hence, Virat knew their victory had been ensured. They were about to script history after the misery of almost two decades. He had realized that the moment he had dreamed of his entire life was finally coming to life.
Heartbreak After Heartbreak
As every single cricket fan knows, this journey of RCB was everything but easy. They have finally won their first title after suffering uncountable heartbreaks season after season. After failing to cross the final frontier thrice in previous finals, they finally managed to get their hands on the trophy this time around, that too in quite a commanding fashion.
The agony of all these years had come to an end at last. Whether it was the soul shattering defeats in the finals of 2009, 2011 and 2016, or the humiliation during the seasons of 2017-19 or the constant choking at the most crucial moment/match during the 2020-2024 seasons- RCB had seen it all. The franchise, the fans and the players who seemed to have waited for an eternity, could finally say that the trophy was theirs.

Virat- Gayle- ABD Hold the Trophy Together
It was a fact to be noted that two legends of the IPL, Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers were also present in the stadium for the Final. Those two along with Kohli were the three main pillars of the RCB team during 2011-2017 and were a significant reason of how RCB built such a massive fanbase. After Gayle was released in 2018, it was the prolific pair of Kohli- AB who carried the team all alone on their shoulders, stepping up when no one else did.
After RCB and Virat Kohli won the match, Gayle and joined him and the team during the celebrations and lifted the trophy together. It was a sight to behold for every cricket fan to see the three legends with the same trophy which they couldn't win together as players. Kohli also shared a long and deep hug with AB while both of them let their emotions flow, which made for a emotional and wholesome moment.
Virat also came running towards Ravi Shastri and climbed onto him, expressing his deep love and care for him. The captain-coach duo of Kohli-Shastri is considered one of the best that the Indian Cricket Team has ever had while Shastri is also someone who has been really close to Kohli over the years. It will be safe to say that RCB's win did make everyone quite a bit emotional and happy from the inside as everyone knew that after all these years of heartbreak, RCB did deserve that glory.
