Patna, 6 June | Silver smugging crackdown patna: Commerce tax department on Thursday in Bakarganj area of ​​Patna, capital of Bihar Bureau of Investigation Taking major action, 70 kg of gold and 5500 kg of silver have been recovered from the premises of three major bullion traders. The raid was carried out on the basis of complaints of tax evasion and illegal transactions.

According to departmental sources, the activities being carried out by these traders were being monitored for some time. When raids were conducted on Thursday with the entire plan, the traders were sought a bill and valid documents to the purchase of gold and silver, but the three businessmen could not present the documents.

Voluntarily 90 Payment of lakh rupees:

The three traders admitted to the tax evasion on the spot and voluntarily paid ₹ 90 lakh. The premises from which the investigation team has recovered this is currently sealed. The action will continue on Friday as well.

Information and raid basis:

It was reported that a large amount of gold and silver trade is being done in Bakarganj area.

Documents to procurement, cash transactions and GST theft have been found without tax invoice.

The special branch of the department took action by gathering adequate data and evidence.

Process of legal action:

The three business establishments who were raided will be issued notice under the Commerce Tax Act and GST Act. Further investigation will also investigate the books of transactions, bank accounts, digital payment records etc.
