Palampur: The third Nirvana Mahotsav honoring Swami Prakashanand Ji Maharaj was held with immense reverence at Govind Jeevan Ashram in Parour, Palampur. The event commenced with worship and aarti dedicated to the esteemed Swami Ji, followed by a congregation of saints from various regions who gathered to celebrate his teachings.

A spiritual discourse, or satsang, took place where saints from different ashrams shared their wisdom on achieving human liberation. They discussed the journey towards freedom from the cycle of birth and death, highlighting that seva (selfless service) is a crucial pathway to spiritual enlightenment. The speakers emphasized that serving spiritual leaders, participating in satsang, and adhering to the Guru's teachings guide seekers toward the ultimate truth.

During the satsang, speakers reflected on the essence of human existence, drawing inspiration from Swami Ji's life. They conveyed that life should not solely focus on material gains but should be devoted to righteousness (dharma) and spiritual growth. Swami Ji consistently directed his followers towards the path of moksha (liberation), and his teachings continue to resonate with numerous devotees worldwide.

The Nirvana Mahotsav was marked by profound devotion as disciples gathered at the ashram to pay their respects and engage in special prayers for Swami Ji. A community feast (bhandara) was organized on the auspicious occasion of Nirjala Ekadashi, providing meals for all saints and devotees present.

Swami Premanand Ji Maharaj, who now oversees the ashram in line with Swami Prakashanand Ji’s legacy, expressed his gratitude to all attending saints. As a gesture of appreciation, he presented gifts to them for their participation in the event.

Govind Jeevan Ashram continues to maintain its tradition of monthly satsangs and bhandaras on Sankranti (solar transition day), ensuring the spiritual essence remains vibrant. The teachings of Swami Prakashanand Ji serve as a guiding light for his followers, leading them towards a life filled with selfless service and devotion.

The Nirvana Mahotsav was not merely a celebration but a reaffirmation of the values imparted by Swami Ji to his disciples, reinforcing the importance of faith, righteousness, and spiritual discipline in living a meaningful life.
