India's move to suspend Indus Water Treaty is having a bad effect in Pakistan. After this step of India, Pakistan is now on the verge of water crisis. While Pakistan is neck deep in debt till now, now the shortage of water has increased its difficulty even more.
Pakistan is constantly pleading with India regarding Indus Water Treaty. After the decision of the Government of India to suspend the Indus Water Treaty, Pakistan has written 4 letters to the Government of India. Through these letters, Pakistan has appealed to the Government of India that India should reconsider suspending the treaty. Pakistan also said that it is ready to negotiate on the agreement. Pakistan's Water Resources Ministry wrote a letter to India's Jal Shakti Ministry.
Pakistan is worried
Actually, Pakistan is worried that India's decision will have a very bad effect on the Rabi crop in Pakistan. According to sources, this letter has been sent to the Ministry of External Affairs as per the rules. But, India has no sympathy with Pakistan's plea.
This is how India is using water
PM Modi has already made it clear that blood and water cannot flow together. On the other hand, the Indian government is working on a plan to build a tunnel of about 12 kilometers and a canal of about 120-130 kilometers for better use of the water going to Pakistan.
There is a plan to connect the water of the rivers going to Pakistan with the Ravi Canal Project, Indira River Project, Bikaner Canal, Gang Canal through these tunnels and canals so that the water of these rivers can be brought to Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Delhi.
In fact, the 7 Indian delegations who went abroad were also asked questions by foreign representatives about the Indus Water Treaty, in response to which the Indian delegations said that blood and water cannot flow together. There is no scope for this as long as Pakistan keeps sending terrorists to India.
Why did India take the decision?
There was an attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April. In this terrorist attack, 26 people, most of whom were tourists, were brutally killed. After the Pahalgam attack, the whole country was enraged over the terrorism being carried out by Pakistan. India postponed the Indus Water Treaty to teach Pakistan a lesson against terrorism. After this, Pakistan is now facing water shortage.
India also launched Operation Sindoor against Pakistan and taught it a tough lesson. In this operation, 9 terrorist hideouts of Pakistan were destroyed. Pakistan also made an unsuccessful attempt to attack India. A ceasefire was signed between the two countries on 10 May.
