Delhi Police Arrests Notorious Gang Member Linked to Kapil Sangwan

Gang Member Arrested in Delhi

The special unit of the Delhi Police has apprehended a key member of the infamous Kapil Sangwan gang. Officials disclosed this information on Friday.


A resident of Auchandi village in Bawana, Amardeep alias Amar Lochab, aged 48, was wanted in a murder case in Faridabad and had been on the run for nearly two years.


According to police reports, the suspect was also wanted under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) and the Arms Act. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Amit Kaushik stated, 'Acting on a tip-off, police spotted the accused on Thursday evening near a canal along the Tikri-Jhajjar road in the Mundka area, where he appeared to be waiting for someone. When the police attempted to stop him, he tried to flee but was apprehended after a brief chase.'


During the search, officers recovered a semi-automatic pistol and three cartridges from his possession. The official noted that Amardeep was affiliated with the Kapil Sangwan gang.


During interrogation, he admitted to involvement in three criminal cases, including the murder of a witness in Faridabad, a case under MCOCA, and another under the Arms Act. He was declared a fugitive in the MCOCA case.


It was reported that Amardeep is accused of the murder of Surajbhan alias Ballu Dinpur in Faridabad on January 30, 2024. His criminal record also includes a fraud case from 2013 and involvement in a robbery case in Dwarka in 2020. Kaushik mentioned that further inquiries are being conducted to gather more information about the Sangwan gang's network, associates, and arms supply routes.
