Best Yoga Pose For Spine: In today's fast-paced and stressful life, it has become very difficult to maintain mental and physical balance. The practice of yoga is considered beneficial to keep the body healthy and fit. Yoga not only keeps the body and mind healthy, but also gives the strength to fight diseases. Among the various yoga asanas, Makarasana (Crocodile Pose) is a very effective and simple asana. Practicing this asana can be very beneficial for all people.

In the asana 'Makarasana', the body remains in a stable and relaxed posture like a crocodile, hence it is called Makarasana. This asana is considered to be particularly relaxing and relieves fatigue. Makarasana is also done as a preparation for yoga nidra, due to which the body is completely relaxed. This asana is considered to be very beneficial for the spine. People of all ages can practice this asana.

- Makarasana is very beneficial for the spine. It reduces stiffness by stretching the lower back. This asana is especially beneficial for people suffering from slip disc, spondylitis or spinal tension. Its regular practice makes the spine strong and flexible.

- According to the Ministry of AYUSH, Makarasana relaxes the muscles of the body, especially the back, waist and shoulder muscles. It is an ideal asana for those who work on the computer for a long time or sit in the same position.

- While doing Makarasana, the body lies on the stomach, which puts slight pressure on the stomach. This pressure activates the digestive organs. Also, deep and slow breathing during this asana increases the flow of oxygen in the body, which improves digestion. Problems like gas, constipation, and indigestion are relieved.

- Makarasana provides peace not only to the body but also to the mind. It reduces stress and anxiety, which increases concentration and improves sleep. According to the Ministry of AYUSH, this asana is helpful in maintaining mental balance and balances physical energy.

- This asana helps to expand the chest, which increases the efficiency of the lungs and makes breathing easier. It is a helpful exercise for those who have asthma or other respiratory problems.

The correct method of doing Makarasana

First of all, spread a yoga mat on a flat and quiet place and lie down on it on the stomach. Spread the legs slightly apart and keep the toes outward. Now bend the elbows and place both the palms on each other like the palm of the right hand on the left hand. Rest the head on the palms – either on the right or left side. Close the eyes slowly and leave the whole body loose. Now take a deep and slow breath, and focus on the breath. Stay in this position for 5 to 10 minutes and then slowly return to the normal position.
