has revealed an unexpected celebrity crush - but it didn't last long. On Friday (June 6), the former host was watching Celebrity Bridge alongside fellow Radio 2 presenter of when Countdown star appeared on screen. That's when Paddy couldn't help but make a cheeky confession. He admitted: "There's something about Rachel Riley I don't know what it is.
"You know when you have like a celebrity crush that you're not supposed to have." But the moment was short-lived. Vernon quickly pointed out: "She's a United fan," prompting Paddy to recoil. "Oh I've got right off her!" he declared, visibly horrified. Lucky for Paddy, Rachel Riley is now single. She and her husband, former Strictly Come Dancing pro Pasha Kovalev, split in 2023 after nearly a decade together. Their relationship famously began after Rachel appeared on Strictly in 2013, shortly after it was announced she was separating from her then-husband - a split often cited as part of the infamous Strictly curse.
Paddy, meanwhile, was previously married to model and TV personality Christine McGuinness. The pair, who announced their separation in 2022, share three children together.
Paddy's cheeky confession about his celebrity crush wasn't the only thing that got viewers talking - tonight's episode of Celebrity Gogglebox also marked his return to the sofa alongside Vernon Kay.
The Radio 2 stars, both 51, were back on screens as part of the latest celebrity line-up, and fans were thrilled to see the Bolton pals reunited.
Ahead of the episode, Paddy joked on social media: "I still can't believe @vernonkay wears denim to relax? This Friday we'll be on the couch, watching telly on @c4gogglebox."
The pair also shared a teaser clip on Gogglebox's Instagram, with Paddy saying: "We are back with some belty TV," and Vernon adding: "Oh yeah! Celebrity Gogglebox, back on Friday at 9pm. Enjoy."
Paddy signed off with a classic dad flex: "Look at that, I've even run a cloth over the sink."
Fans were delighted, with one commenting: "This has made my Friday night," and another calling them "The Boltonian A-Team."
Speaking to ahead of the new series, Vernon said: "Can't wait to be on Celebrity Gogglebox with Paddy as we both love the show, and always have.
"It's proper feel-good telly, and I reckon me and Paddy will bring the full commentary package - strong opinions, big laughs, and a serious lack of filter."
Also appearing in tonight's episode were returning favourites Martin and Roman Kemp, Denise Van Outen and Johnny Vaughan, Gok Wan and Fearne Cotton, Mo Gilligan and Babatunde Aleshe, Gyles Brandreth and Lulu, and Rylan Clark with his mum Linda.
