NEET PG 2025: The NEET PG 2025 exam will be held on 03 August 2025. As per the order of the Supreme Court, the medical entrance exam will be conducted in a single shift. NBEMS has finalized the date of 03 August 2025 (Sunday) for the NEET UG 2025 exam. Earlier this exam was to be held on 15 June 2025. A petition was filed in the Supreme Court for the NEET PG exam. In the hearing of the same, it was decided that the NEET PG exam would be conducted in a single shift.
During today's hearing, the lawyer said that due to conducting the exam in a single shift, the NEET PG 2025 exam date has to be extended (NEET PG 2025 Date). The same demand has been made in the application as well. The Supreme Court has approved the application of NBE. The Supreme Court said- 'We are satisfied that the petition and the reasons given for conducting the exam on August 3 are correct.' A total of 2.5 lakh candidates have registered for NEET PG.
Why was NEET PG postponed?
The NEET PG exam was earlier scheduled to be held on June 15, 2025. However, during the hearing on May 30, the Supreme Court ordered the medical entrance exam to be conducted in a single shift. The examination of 2.5 lakh NEET PG candidates was to be held at about 450 centers. But at least 500 centers are needed to examine a single shift. It will take time to identify the centers, arrange for security measures, and allow students to choose the examination center. That is why the NEET PG was postponed.
What happened in the Supreme Court hearing?
Lawyer- Due to conducting NEET PG 2025 in a single shift, the date has to be extended. This is what we have demanded in the application.
Supreme Court- Why are you taking so much time?
NBE lawyer- Let me clarify. The Supreme Court said that this is too much time. The whole process got delayed. The total number of candidates is 2.5 lakh. There were about 450 centers. Since we have to conduct the exam in a single shift, we need at least 500 centers. It will take time to identify the centers, arrange for security measures, and allow students to choose the exam center.
Justice PK Mishra- But you need time till August 3? Why so much time?
Justice Masih- You have not even started the process. The order was passed on May 30. What did you do after that? This is causing a delay. Why do you need two months?
Lawyer- We have to double the number of centers. Then we have to ensure that the centers are safe, it will take time. After that, the candidates also have to be informed about the centers.
After this, the Supreme Court approved the NEET PG exam to be held on August 03, 2025
