Carlos Alcaraz has officially booked his place in the French Open 2025 men’s singles final, securing a walkover win against Lorenzo Musetti in the semi-final.

The match may not have gone the full distance, but the contest offered plenty of action before Musetti was forced to retire due to injury.

Musetti Starts Strong but Alcaraz Finds His Gear

Lorenzo Musetti began the match on a high, taking the first set with confident shot-making and clever movement.

But Alcaraz regrouped quickly and began asserting himself, pushing the Italian into a defensive position as the second set intensified.

The Spaniard clinched the second set in a tie-break, after which the momentum fully shifted in his favor.

Alcaraz Puts On a Masterclass Before Walkover

By the third set, Alcaraz was in full control. He took just 22 minutes to finish the set, winning 23 of the last 28 points.

The 21-year-old’s forehand was firing with precision, earning him three breaks of serve.

In just 16 minutes, he had gone 5-0 up, completely overpowering a struggling Musetti.

Musetti, visibly in pain, required medical attention during the match but was unable to recover, eventually bowing out in the fourth set.

Alcaraz’s Sportsmanship Shines Through

Following the match, Alcaraz turned to the crowd at Court Philippe-Chatrier and urged them to recognize Musetti’s effort.

He asked for applause for the Italian, who had shown tremendous spirit before his injury cut the battle short.

The arena responded with a warm ovation as Musetti walked off.

Eyes on Djokovic vs Sinner Clash

Speaking after his win, Alcaraz shared his excitement for the other semi-final clash.

“Of course I’ll watch it, I’m not gonna miss it. It’s one of the best matches we can have in tennis at the moment… I’m gonna watch and enjoy. I’m a big tennis fan… it’ll be a great match,” said Alcaraz in his on-court interview.

The final scoreline read: 4-6, 7-6 (6-3), 6-0, 2-0 (retired) in Alcaraz’s favour.

With his spot in the final now confirmed, Alcaraz awaits the winner between Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner in what promises to be an epic showdown.
