In the Match 2 of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2025 between IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans (ITT) and Chepauk Super Gillies (CSG) at SNR College Cricket Ground, Coimbatore, the fans experienced a unique and amusing moment with the square leg umpire.
The incident occurred in the 15th over when ITT's left-handed batter Uthirasamy Sasidev tried a sweep shot against Chepauk bowler Swapnil Singh. Sadly, the shot was played directly to the square leg area and hit umpire Krishnamachari Srinivasan on his right elbow. He immediately collapsed to the ground, which caused a panic situation on the field.
Fortunately, there was no severe injury. Srinivasan sped back onto his feet and indicated that he was okay to proceed with umpiring. The commentators, perceiving the humor in the situation, wisecracked, "Is there any concussion sub for the umpires?" - having the crowd and audience in stitches. It was a combination of threat and humor and thus proved to be one of the most discussed incidents of the game.

CSG Dominate the Game After Winning Toss
Talking about the match, Chepauk Super Gillies won the toss and decided to bowl first. ITT scored a decent 173/6 in 20 overs. The key player with the bat was Tushar Raheja, who hammered 79 from 43 balls, including 7 fours and 5 sixes.
For CSG, Abhishek Tanwar and Vijay Shankar picked up two wickets apiece. One each came from Prem Kumar and Lokesh Raj.
Chepauk responded with ease to the chase, wrapping up the game in 16 overs. scored a match-winning 77 and his innings comprised of five fours and five sixes. He was ably supported by Mokithariharan (46) and Vijay Shankar (41). Baba Aparajith was adjudged Player of the Match for his fabulous knock of 77 off 48.
R Silambarasan and Sai Kishore were the only bowlers of ITT who got a wicket. However, they lacked enough support from other bowlers which caused them a huge defeat.
