Bengaluru Stampede: Politics has started warming up regarding the incident of Bengaluru stampede. Union Minister Shobha Karandalaje has accused the top leaders of the Congress of remaining silent on the development. He said that the big leaders of the Congress, including top officials like Rahul Gandhi and KC Venugopal, are not commenting on the incident as they have a habit of considering Karnataka as ‘ATM’.
Shobha Karandalaje said in a conversation with the media, “I want to ask the Congress high command why they are silent. They used to come here often, but where are they now? Why are they not focused on this incident? He should ask for resignation from the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister.”
Earlier, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi also demanded Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar to resign in connection with the Bengaluru stampede incident. He told the media, “The state government should take moral responsibility. Both leaders should immediately move away from their posts.”
At the same time, the Karnataka High Court has also given relief in this case. The court has given interim relief to the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) officials and has postponed the hearing on the petition to cancel the FIR filed against them till 9 June. The petition consists of KSCA President Ram Bhat, Secretary A Shankar, Treasurer ES Jairam and other officials who appealed to the court to cancel the FIR.
Many people were reported injured in this stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, while no clear statement has been received from the police and administration yet. This incident has intensified the political movement, in which both the opposition and the central government are giving their respective reactions.
