B Sai Sudharsan, who is likely to make his Test debut for India against England, shared insights into his discussions with Virat Kohli on how to handle setbacks. The left-handed batter also recalled congratulating Kohli after Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won the IPL 2025 final. Sudharsan is among three uncapped players chosen for the upcoming five-match Test series against England, which kicks off on June 20 in Leeds.
His performance in first-class cricket has been impressive, having accumulated 1,957 runs at an average of 39.93 from 29 matches. In an interview with The Times of India, Sudharsan shared his admiration for Kohli’s approach and dedication to the game.
“I congratulated him after the final as it was a really special moment for him. But we’ve had many conversations over the years,” he said. “What I’ve always admired about him is his mentality and the dedication he has for the game. We’ve talked about how he handled the situation when he wasn’t scoring runs,” he said.
He scored 759 runs for Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League 2024. Sudharsan’s team’s run ended in the Eliminator after a loss to Mumbai Indians.
He also spoke about Shubman Gill. “The most important factor is his mindset and self-belief, along with the confidence he has in his own abilities. I’ve observed how he handles himself during tough times. Additionally, there are technical aspects that also play a significant role.”
