Stray Dog Attack Claims Young Life in Bihar

A tragic event unfolded in Samastipur district, Bihar, where a 13-year-old boy lost his life after being attacked by a pack of stray dogs. Authorities reported that the dogs inflicted severe injuries, leaving his bones exposed.


As per reports, the boy was part of a group heading to a religious site, trailing behind when the dogs targeted him. Despite the swift response from his father and nearby villagers, who attempted to rescue him, the boy succumbed to his injuries before help could arrive.


This incident has incited anger among local residents, who organized protests demanding accountability from the police for their delayed response. They are also calling for financial assistance for the grieving family.


In a separate incident, 14 individuals, including 13 children, were hospitalized in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, after being bitten by stray dogs. A health official confirmed that all victims were treated at the local hospital.


Dr. Yogesh Sharma, an epidemiologist at Khandwa District Hospital, stated that the victims were attacked in the Khan Wali Shah area. Among them were 13 children and a 60-year-old woman, all of whom received medical attention.


The doctor noted that the injuries varied in severity, with nine individuals suffering from category three bites. Fortunately, all victims are currently stable. The local community reported that all 14 were bitten by the same dog.


In response to the increasing number of stray dog attacks on children, the Punjab State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has urged local government and rural development departments to take action.
