Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar
The opposition BJP on Sunday staged a protest demonstration at Vidhana Soudha to press for the resignation of chief minister Siddaramaiah and deputy CM DK Shivakumar over the stampede outside Chinnaswamy stadium that claimed 11 lives.

The two have lost their moral right to rule after the death of 11 persons, said the leader of the opposition in the assembly, R Ashoka of the BJP.

He called the two top leaders the "Real Culprits of Bengaluru (RCB)" while urging them to step down and face the law for "causing deaths" by negligence. He was accompanied by the leader of the opposition in the legislative council Chalavadi Narayanaswamy.

Ashoka said the BJP would stand by the suspended police officers as the government went ahead with the events ignoring their warning.

BJP leaders are also planning to meet the governor, seeking his intervention, said party functionaries.
