Mawra Hocane and Ameer Gilani, considered one of Pakistan’s most beloved celebrity couples, saw their Eid celebrations turn into sorrow this year.

Mawra, a superstar of Pakistan’s television industry, has proven her talent through remarkable performances in dramas like Sabaat, Neem, Sammi, Jaffar, Nauroz, Qissa Meherbano Ka, Ek Tamanna Lahasil Si, and Aangan. She also left a mark in Bollywood with just one film, Sanam Teri Kasam. While the film didn’t gain much success initially—except for the popularity of the song “Tuu Kheench Meri Photo”—it became a hit after a re-release.

In February 2025, Mawra surprised fans by marrying her long-time love, Ameer Gilani.

Though they first met at university, their bond deepened on the set of the drama serial Sabaat. Despite keeping their relationship mostly private, viewers could sense the love between them.

A few months ago, their beautiful wedding ceremonies charmed fans, and since then, their married life has been visibly happy through the moments shared on their social media.

Recently, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, Mawra and Ameer posted a cheerful video on Instagram, dancing along with Ameer’s sister to the viral Eid song Cham Cham.

Mawra wore a stunning outfit in a light green and purple combination by designer Farhat Talib Aziz, while Ameer appeared in a light grey ensemble, debuting a clean-shaven look that fans found especially dashing.

However, the couple’s Eid joy was short-lived, as they experienced a heartbreaking loss during the festivities.

Their beloved pet dog, Yogi, passed away at just two years of age.

Both actors shared emotional posts on Instagram, informing fans of their loss and expressing their grief.

Wrote tour:

“Our beautiful boy, you left us far too soon and so suddenly. Thank you for giving us so much love in such a short time. We will miss you every day, we will think of you always. My golden boy… my Yogi… love you.”

Ameer also paid tribute, writing:

“A piece of our heart has left us today. My best friend Yogi… we’ll meet again soon.”

He included Yogi’s birthdate—June 6, 2023—and the date of his passing—June 8, 2025.

The couple shared touching videos and photos of cherished moments with Yogi, showing just how much he meant to them.

While Mawra and Ameer and their families mourn this loss, they haven’t posted anything else to Eid besides their earlier joyful video.

Social media users expressed sympathy, with many commenting on how painful it is to lose a pet—often considered like one’s own child.

Several users also questioned how such a young dog could pass away so suddenly, given the typically longer lifespan of dogs.

Nevertheless, most comments were filled with love, condolences, and memories of past Eid celebrations featuring Yogi, offering comfort to the grieving couple.
