Paris: Spain’s young tennis player Carlos Alkaraz created history. Alkaraz won the French Open title for the second consecutive time. In the final match, Carlos Alkaraz made a brilliant comeback after losing two sets, defeating the world number one Yanik Cinner in the five sets. Along with this, he also defended his title.

The world’s second -ranked player, Spain’s Carlos Alkaraz defeated the top seeded zanic syneror in the historic final of the French Open 2025, showing his tremendous combativeness and patience. This is Alkaraj’s fifth Grand Slam title with this victory. While Sinner is named three Grand Slam.

Alkaraj won the match 3-2

Alkaraz defeated the Italian sinner 4-6, 6-7 (4), 6-4, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (2) in a thrilling match for five hours 29 minutes, saving three matches points. With this victory, he put an end to the winning campaign of 20 consecutive wins at the Grand Slam in Sinner. The world’s number one player Cinner won the US Open in 2023 and the Australian Open title in 2024 and in Paris he landed with the goal of completing the Grand Slam hat. But Alkaraj did not allow this to happen.

Alkaraz has not received defeat in the final yet

Alkaraz has not lost any Grand Slam final so far, while Sinner lost for the first time in the title match of Grand Slam. Twenty-two-year-old Alkaraj’s record of win-defeat over Clay Court this year has increased to 22–1. He registered a total eighth win, including the fifth consecutive win of 23 -year -old Sinner. Sinner has defeated Alkaraj four times.

Alkaraz was on the verge of defeat in the fourth set but he drew the match in the decisive set by saving three matches points and then won it 7-6 and won the match and title. In the tiebreak of the fifth set, Alkaraj made a brilliant start to take a big 7–0 lead and then won easily.

In the fourth set, Alkaraz was trailing 0–40 after a score of 3-5, but then he won 7-6 in the tiebreaker, leaving his opponent behind. Top-ranked player Sinner won the first two sets 6-4, 7-6, while Alkaraz won the third set by 6-4 and laid the foundation for his return to the match.

Alkaraz has won these five Grand Slam

With this victory, Carlos Alkaraz won the fifth Grand Slam title of his career. Earlier, he won the US Open in 2022, 2023 and Wimbledon in 2024 and the French Open in 2024. This time makes the victory even more special, the fact that he saved the championship point in the title match and with this he has become the only third players of Open Era who did so and won the Grand Slam tournament.
