Haflong, June 9: Rosmita Hojai, a young woman hailing from Hojai village, located about 15 kilometers from Haflong in Dima Hasao, has been unaccounted for since June 5 while in Delhi. She was last seen on her way to take an RRB examination and has not communicated with her family since that day.
The sudden nature of her disappearance has left her family in deep distress. Recent reports indicate that two individuals who were with her after the exam visited the Shivpuri Police Station in Uttarakhand, claiming she was swept away by a river. This information was only relayed to her family on Saturday by local police in Haflong.
In light of this news, her relatives have traveled to Uttarakhand in hopes of finding her. Despite the new developments, Rosmita's exact location remains a mystery.
Her family is actively seeking public help in locating her.
Additionally, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has offered his support to Rosmita's family, promising all necessary assistance in their search efforts.
In an interview, Rosmita's mother revealed that her daughter had recently completed her engineering studies in Haryana and was preparing for the APSC exams in Guwahati. She had traveled to Delhi on June 4 for the RRB exam scheduled for June 5. That evening, Rosmita had informed her mother of her intention to return by train. However, her mother expressed unease, noting that Rosmita had never been dishonest with her before, making her claim about the train return seem suspicious. She fears that her daughter may have been pressured into making such a statement.
