iOS 26 version is official and we now know about the new design changes and features.
Apple WWDC 2025 has concluded where we got our first big news about the iOS 26 update. The new iPhone platform will be rolling out later this year but most rumours were confirmed during the hour-long keynote on Monday.
The new iOS 26 naming sequence was widely tipped to be announced and Apple made the official reveal as well as highlighting the new design and features coming to the iPhone users soon.
iOS 26 Update Design Changes And New Features
The iOS 26 update replaces the iOS 19 version that was earlier expected to be Apple’s next iteration. The company has talked about the biggest iOS change since iOS 7 version and the new Liquid Glass design focuses on transparent layers, more fluid approach to the interface and improved modes to align with these changes. The new design UI is not limited to iPhones but iOS 26 will spearhead the new version and take Apple’s future into the next iPhone models.
Camera App Changes
The new UI is also giving us a new camera app for iPhones. The new interface offers easier ways to access the controls, change the video settings from the top of the screen. Much-needed changes especially with the settings. These changes take iOS closer to the Android interface but that’s not always a bad thing.
More Calling Options
The Phone app is also changing with the cleaner interface and support for more features. The favourite contacts will stay at the top, and the rest of the content will be summarised using Apple AI. You will also get call screening and hold assist coming to iPhone users. Live translate will work through FaceTime calls, voice calls and even messages for these users.
More Visual AI Powers
Apple is now letting you use visual AI tech to view your iPhone’s screen and work with any app. You can tap the control/action button to activate the AI and get the image search results on Google or other search platforms.
iOS 26 update will be available for iPhone 11 and higher models this year but the developer preview beta is now available for testing while the iOS 26 public beta rolls out in July. Some of the Apple AI features will only work if you have the iPhone 15 Pro or newer models.
