Suspense crime, Digital Desk : At WWDC twenty-twenty-five, Apple took the wraps off tvOS twenty-six and described its promise to breathe new life into the Apple TV living-room ritual. The company spoke of a Liquid Glass finish, sharper FaceTime features, a polished Music Sing experience, and new tools so developers can build more naturally into the big screen.

Abaft the marketing buzz, spectators spotted a freshly minted Liquid Glass design that morphs on-screen in pliable, almost liquid strokes. Playback buttons and setting dials now slide and shimmer in real time rather than appearing as fixed overlays.

The Apple TV app itself greets viewers with sprawling poster art that stretches across the desktop like film cards in a lobby, a small tweak that somehow makes browsing feel more theatrical. Personal profiles, once buried in settings, can be set to leap into view the instant the box wakes.

Install a third-party app, and the sign-in chore is suddenly less of a chore; the software talks quietly to the Apple Account behind the scenes. Fresh devices require fewer keystrokes, and that twenty-second ritual of typing long email addresses starts to feel like yesterday.

Apple Music Sing Users with an iPhone in Hand
Apple Music Sing can now turn your iPhone into a makeshift microphone, letting everyone in the room join the chorus while the phone sits on a stand. The upgrade also brings multi-user sing-alongs, on-the-fly translations, and real-time lyric highlights, so people, whether they sing in Spanish or Korean, feel included.

Big FaceTime Updates on Apple TV
FaceTime on the big screen now flashes Contact Posters, which gives that familiar iPhone look and feel. The update also tacks on live captions for Japanese, Spanish, and Korean, shows incoming audio calls right on the display, and lets you pick up a call with either a HomePod or the iPhone thats already tethered to the set.

Extra Goodies in tvOS 26
Fresh Aerial videos from Indias Goa and Kerala are now part of the rotation, and you can quickly hide categories like Earth or Cityscape if they arent your vibe. A separate toggle also lets any AirPlay speaker take over as the default sound source for the Apple TV, easing the push-and-pull over who gets to be heard first.

When Youll Get It
A developer beta has been live since June 9 for anyone with an Apple Developer Program account, a public beta is slated for July 2025, and the polished version is aimed at fall 2025.
