Users in India and the United States experienced significant disruptions, primarily affecting the chatbot’s core functionality. In India, a staggering 82 percent of reported complaints were directly linked to ChatGPT’s inability to respond to queries. Mobile application issues accounted for 14 percent of problems, while four percent of users cited difficulties with API integration.
The situation in the United States as over 900 users reported issues while 93 percent of affected users faced problems using ChatGPT itself. App- difficulties were reported by six percent of users and one percent struggled with login issues.

The disruption, which has been acknowledged by OpenAI on its official status page, also impacts Sora, the company’s text-to-video generation platform. Both key services are currently experiencing downtime, frustrating users who rely on these AI tools for various tasks.

Many users are reported a generic “Hmm…something seems to have gone wrong” message, while others are met with a more detailed “A network error occurred. Please check your connection and try again. If this issue persists please contact us through our help center at help.openai.com.”
