Brussels: External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jayashankar has given a strong message to Pakistan, saying that if India was reunited, it is ready to go across the border and attack any terrorist hideout.
On the Brussels tour, he clearly stated in an interview to the international media group Politico that the recent military conflict has stopped, but its root – Pakistan sponsored terrorism – still exists.
“Pakistan’s policy is terrorism”
Jaishankar said in sharp words:
“Pakistan is a country that uses terrorism as a state policy. This is the real problem.”
He said that India’s retaliation and the loss to Pakistan due to fighter aircraft and missiles were the reason for Islamabad to retreat.
“Pakistan trembled with an attack on May 10”
Jaishankar told that
“On the morning of May 10, India attacked 8 major Pakistani airbase. After our action, their Air Force disabled. It was from here that the ceasefire started.”
He further added that evidence of these attacks can be seen on the Google satellite image – runways and hangers have been badly destroyed.
“If the terrorists are in Pakistan then we will also go there”
Jaishankar accused Pakistan of running a terrorist training camp and said that India will not tolerate any more.
“If the terrorists are sent from across the border, it will be revenge. We don’t mind where they are – if they are very deep inside Pakistan, then we will go there.”
Background: Operation vermilion and ceasefire
The statement came after the incident when 26 innocent citizens were killed in a terrible terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April 2025. The attack was taken by the Pakistan -based terrorist organization ‘The Resident Front’.
In response, on 7 May, India ran ‘Operation Sindoor’, in which Pakistan and PoK terrorist bases were targeted.
This was followed by military conflict between the two countries for three days, and the ceasefire was finally announced on 10 May.
