New Delhi: Indias left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh is happy to return to Kent where he has played county cricket and will be trying to get into rhythm in the traditional format before the five-Test series against England starting on June 20.
Will he get a chance for Test debut?
26-year-old Arshdeep Singh who has played 9 ODIs and 63 T20 Internationals is very close to playing his first Test match for the Indian team. The Indian team will play a four-day practice match against India A in Kent from June 13.
Arshdeep getting rhythm with the red ball
Arshdeep told BCCI TV My goal in todays practice session was to get into rhythm. We were constantly playing the white ball format so now it felt good to play with the red ball. Going forward we will get better and it will not be easy for the batsmen to play the ball.
Cannot be compared with Bumrah
Arshdeep said that he will try to hone his skills by bowling with Jasprit Bumrah. He said Whenever I catch the ball I feel that I am the best. But everyone knows that when you have Jasprit Bumrah in your bowling attack there can be no word like comparison. The focus is on how we can improve our game and help each other the team.
Having a lot of fun in practice
Arshdeep said I enjoyed bowling. We were playing for practice but with a completely competitive spirit. This made it even more fun. We tried to get them out by making a solid strategy. Sai (Sudarshan) has joined the team for the first time and is also in great form. We tried a lot to get him out.
