Delhi: 24 -year -old Nehal Vadhera caught everyone’s attention from his game in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Playing for Punjab Kings, he scored 369 runs in 16 matches. His strike rate was 145.85, including two half -centuries, 28 fours and 21 sixes. His batting in the middle order made a big contribution in reaching the team to the finals.

Batting could not run in the final

However, Nehal did not bat in the final match and he could only score 15 runs. But he performed brilliantly throughout the tournament. Except for the final, his contribution in every match was important.

Got big opportunity in Punjab Kings

Nehal first got an identity while playing for Mumbai Indians (Mi) in 2023. This time Punjab Kings (PBKS) bought him for Rs 4.20 crore and he proved that trust completely correct. Initially Nehal felt that he would not get a chance in the playing XI, but the conversation with coach Ricky Ponting changed everything.

Nehal Vadhera’s view on season

Talking to ‘Hindustan Times’ a week after the IPL final, Nehal said, “We reached the final, which happened after 11 years. If we look at the entire tournament, our performance was very good. We scored more than 200 runs in 7 matches and the team added 3000 runs, which is a big achievement.”

Most memorable match

Nehal said, “We had defended only 111 runs against KKR, which was the best match of my career. The team’s atmosphere, captain and coach – everything was great. I am confident that Punjab Kings will continue to perform well in the coming years and also win the title.”
