Akshay Kumar has returned to his much-loved comedy roots with ‘Housefull 5’, and the numbers are proving that fans are loving it. The film, directed by Tarun Mansukhani, opened in cinemas last Friday and features a star-studded cast including Nargis Fakhri, Abhishek Bachchan , Jacqueline Fernandez , Riteish Deshmukh and Soundarya Sharma .

The movie had a strong opening weekend and entered the Rs 100 crore club in just four days of its release in India. Now, on Day 5, it continues to do well at the box office.

Strong numbers despite midweek dip
According to early estimates by Sacnilk.com, ‘Housefull 5’ earned around Rs 10.75 crore on Tuesday, which marks its fifth day in theatres. This brings the total to an impressive Rs 111.25 crore in India.

Here’s how the daily collections look so far:

Day 1 (Friday) – Rs 24 crore

Day 2 (Saturday) – Rs 31 crore

Day 3 (Sunday) – Rs 32.5 crore

Day 4 (Monday) – Rs 13 crore

Occupancy on Day 5
On Tuesday, June 10, ‘Housefull 5’ recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 20.66% in theatres, with a noticeable rise in evening and night shows. Morning shows had 9.34% occupancy, which steadily increased to 20.50% in the afternoon, 22.65% in the evening, and peaked at 30.14% during night shows.

About ‘Housefull 5’
The plot of ‘Housefull 5’ comes with a twist that’s a bit different from the usual comedy storylines. This time, there’s a murder on a cruise ship! A rich billionaire is killed just after he says he will leave his fortune to someone named Jolly. But here’s the catch — there are three Jollys onboard. Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Abhishek Bachchan all play characters named Jolly. To make things more confusing (and fun), their girlfriends are also suspects in the murder. This mix of mystery and madness has added a fresh spin to the franchise, keeping the audience guessing and laughing at the same time.

Two different endings
Another unique thing about ‘Housefull 5’ is that it was released with two different endings. That’s right — there’s ‘Housefull 5A’ and ‘Housefull 5B’. Both versions are playing in cinemas at the same time, and viewers can choose which one they want to watch.
