Anyone chronically online would have already noticed what a rage
Labubu dolls have become. These oddball, almost gremlin-like toys are hanging from literally everyone's purses, and they are taking over the internet rapidly. But here’s the thing: finding a real
Labubu is a bit of a mission. And if you’re not careful, you might end up with a not-so-charming knockoff.
Labubu isn't just a toy. It is a collector's item, especially among Pop Mart fans. These figures fly off the shelves, whether you’re shopping at a physical store or online on Pop Mart’s official site. The problem is, with the growing demand, knock-offs have been flooding the market, and they sure are getting quite good.
Here's how you can spot a fake Labubu doll:
Check the box
Labubu packages are premium. They are matte, soft to the touch, and a little muted in colour. If the box is super shiny or the colours seem too bold, it could be fake.
Scan the code
Most legit Labubus come with a QR code on the box. It should take you straight to Pop Mart’s official website. On the other hand, fake dolls have fake codes that redirect to lookalike sites or have a lag before loading the correct page. Pay attention to that.
Count the teeth
Very weird to do, but definitely count your labubu's teeth. An authentic doll will have exactly nine teeth. Not eight. Not ten. Nine.
Notice the skin, too.e
Real labubu dolls have a pale, peachy complexion. If the face looks super orangey or neon pink, it’s probably not legit.
The UV test
Newer models have it quite easy. Just grab a UV light and shine it on the right foot. You’ll find a secret stamp on the right foot showing which series your doll belongs to. For example, if your Labubu is from the Have A Seat line, the stamp will show it sitting down.
