The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has fixed the last date for Aadhaar free update as June 14, 2025. After this, a fee will have to be paid for uploading the document.
Why is Aadhaar important?
Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identification number, which is issued to every Indian resident based on their biometric and demographic data. Uploading documents online on myAadhaar portal till this date is free.
After this, a fee of Rs 50 will be charged for online or offline updates.
How to update Aadhaar online: Step-by-step guide

Step 1: Go to myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in and log in with your Aadhaar number and OTP received on your registered mobile number.
Step 2: Check the identity and address information shown in your profile.
Step 3: If the information is correct then click on the "I verify that the above details are correct" tab.
Step 4: Select your identity document from the dropdown and upload it. The file size should be less than 2MB and the format should be JPEG, PNG, or PDF.
Step 5: Now select and upload the address document. This file should also be less than 2MB.
Step 6: Give your consent and click on the submit button.
Step 7: With this the process of updating Aadhaar will be completed. Now you can download the acknowledgement receipt.
