have revealed their punditry team for the upcoming tour of Australia, featuring a star-studded line-up of former internationals and rugby icons. The 2025 campaign gets underway later this month, with the showpiece being a three-match Test series against the Wallabies.

The broadcaster will be across all of the action, both from a United Kingdom-based studio as well as pitchside in Australia, with Alex Payne set to front the coverage. He'll be joined by an army of expert analysts, most notably Sam Warburton - a two-time British & Irish Lions captain and the winning skipper the last time they toured Australia in 2013.

Recently-retired Welsh ace Dan Biggar is joining the team, with the former fly-half set to provide commentary alongside Miles Harrison. Meanwhile, the likes of Ronan O'Gara, Will Greenwood, Kyle Sinckler, John Barclay, Conor Murray, Nolli Waterman and Owen Farrell will be providing their verdicts throughout the tour.

It isn't necessarily how Farrell would've imagined spending his summer, having been left out of the playing squad and named on the standby list instead. Whereas legendary duo Warren Gatland and Sir Ian McGeechan will both be on hand to offer insight into what it's like to coach a Lions tour. Gatland was the most recent Lions coach, having taken charge of the Covid-affected tour of South Africa in 2021.

Commenting on the upcoming summer, Biggar said: "A Lions tour is the pinnacle of any player's career, so to now be part of it with Sky Sports is incredibly exciting. Being on the ground, feeling the atmosphere, and sharing that passion with fans, combined with Sky's top-tier analysis, lets us bring the game to life in a way that's insightful, but still accessible for everyone watching at home."

While Jonathan Licht, managing director at Sky Sports, added: "The British & Irish Lions is one of the marquee events of the sporting calendar, and for this tour we're raising the bar with an exceptional on-screen team. From legendary Lions to recently retired greats, we've assembled a line-up of world-class talent who will bring fans closer to the action, sharing unique insights, expert analysis, and unforgettable moments. We can't wait for the action to begin."

The summer of unmissable rugby action begins on June 20 when they take on Argentina in a pre-tour clash at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin - the first-ever Lions made to be held in Ireland. It's then over to Australia, with a series of warm-up games to come before the three-match test against the Wallabies, who currently rank eighth in the world.
