The Star reported that according to Fung, the rumors began when she was asked by a reporter whether she had visited Mak following the announcement of the birth of Mak’s first child in March.

Fung subsequently denied any tension between the two, clarifying that the rumors stemmed from a misunderstanding.

“A group of us have a chat group, and we’re planning to meet up next month for dinner to celebrate my birthday,” Fung said. “We’re still coordinating the dates.”

She further explained that although she and Mak had not seen each other in over six months, the lack of meetings was due to Mak’s busy schedule after her marriage and the birth of her child.

“She’s been really busy,” Fung noted. “We’re trying to arrange a get-together where she can see everyone at once, instead of having to meet us one by one.”

The actress also addressed the concerns regarding any rivalry between her and Mak, as both beauty queens have recently entered the education sector. Fung emphasized that their careers are focused in different areas.

“We’re focused on different areas–Louisa is specializing in early childhood education, while I am focusing on emotional support for primary and secondary students and their parents,” she explained. “Our friendship hasn’t changed at all.”

Fung, 31, has been active as an actress and TV personality since her pageant victory. Her notable works include roles in “Heart and Greed,” “Big White Duel,” and “The Man Who Kills Troubles.”

She is also known for her rumored romance with Arnaldo Ho, son of the late casino mogul Stanley Ho.

Mak, 34, who holds a law degree from the University of Cambridge, gained fame in TVB dramas like “Line Walker: The Prelude” and “My Ages Apart.” She was nominated for Most Improved Female Artiste at the 2018 TVB Anniversary Awards.

After leaving the entertainment industry in 2019, Mak worked as an associate at McKinsey & Company after being called to the bar in New York. In 2022, she left the firm and co-founded Project Melo, a company focused on youth empowerment.
