Suspense crime, Digital Desk : OnePlus is reportedly gearing up to launch two new smartphones in its popular mid-range Nord series for the Indian market: the OnePlus Nord CE 5 and its more affordable sibling, the Nord CE 5 Lite. According to recent leaks from tech insiders, these new devices could arrive as soon as April or May 2024, aiming to capture key price segments in India’s competitive smartphone landscape.
While OnePlus has not made an official announcement, the leaked specifications paint a clear picture of what consumers can expect from each model.
The OnePlus Nord CE 5 is positioned as the more powerful of the two. It is rumored to be equipped with the capable Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, promising smooth performance for gaming and everyday use. Highlights are expected to include a vibrant 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a fluid 120Hz refresh rate. For photography, it’s tipped to feature a 50-megapixel main camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) to help take sharper, less blurry photos. A massive 5,500 mAh battery with blazing-fast 100W SuperVOOC charging could round out the package, with an expected price between ₹25,000 and ₹30,000.
For those on a tighter budget, the OnePlus Nord CE 5 Lite will offer a compelling set of features for under ₹20,000. Leaks suggest it will run on the reliable Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset. It will likely feature a large 6.7-inch LCD screen, which also supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling. The device is expected to share the same 5,500 mAh battery capacity as its bigger brother, but with a more standard 33W fast charging speed. A 50-megapixel main camera is also anticipated for this model.
With this two-pronged approach, OnePlus seems set to continue its successful strategy of offering powerful features at different price points. As these are still based on leaks, tech enthusiasts and potential buyers will be watching closely for an official confirmation from the company.
