A statement on the club's official wesbite read: "In the early 1970s and fresh from securing our first FA Cup and European trophy, Blues manager Dave Sexton, himself an artist when it came to the tactical game, introduced a Chelsea away strip coloured as a tribute to Hungary’s famous ‘Magnificent Magyars’ side from two decades earlier, whose extravagant patterns on the pitch had so influenced his own winning football.
"Soon, the simple plain red, white and green of that kit evolved into a white shirt with a broad red and green vertical stripe, whose theme is now reimagined in a subtle form 50 years on."
You can buy the new match-worn shirt for £125, or a stadium version of the shirt for £85. Youth stadium shirts cost £65 and you can buy them .
The will be worn by the men’s team against Flamengo and ES Tunis at the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
Men's first teamers Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke were at the forefront of the kit launch, with women's star Keisha Buchanan also showing off the new shirt.
