Does only the airline company give them compensation or does the government also give it? Apart from this, if they have any insurance. Then do they get its cover as well? Let us tell you what are the rules for this.

Compensation is given under the Montreal Convention

More than 130 people have lost their lives in the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad. And at present, this figure can be seen increasing. Let us tell you that there is a provision for compensation by the airline company to all the passengers who lost their lives in the plane crash. In this accident too, compensation will be given by the airline company.

The Montreal Convention was held in the year 1999 to determine the accountability of the airline in case of loss related to air passengers and their luggage around the world. India had also signed this international treaty. In the year 2009, India adopted the Montreal Convention. Under which any international flight flying from India comes under this convention.

Airline companies give this much compensation.

Under the Montreal Convention, if a passenger dies in a plane crash, he will have to pay compensation of 1,28,821 SDR i.e. Special Drawing Rights on behalf of the airline. That is, approximately 1.4 crore Indian rupees will be given. Let us tell you that the artificial currency used by Special Drawing Rights i.e. SDR IF i.e. International Monetary Fund is a global currency converter.

According to the rules of the Montreal Convention, all the passengers who lost their lives in this Vivaan accident will be given 1.4 crore Indian rupees. Let us tell you that the amount of compensation can also be increased. Let us tell you that there is a provision to give compensation to the seriously injured as well.

Separate insurance money is also available.

There are many people who already carry travel insurance during the journey. In such a situation, if a passenger dies in a plane crash. Then he gets Rs 25 lakh to Rs 1 crore in accidental death coverage under the travel insurance policy. On the other hand, if a person is seriously injured, he gets Rs 5-10 lakh. So daily allowance is also available for getting admitted in the hospital.

Does the government also give compensation?

In the Ahmedabad plane crash incident, many people are wondering whether the government will give compensation to the victims of this accident. So let us tell you that the government does not give compensation directly in plane accidents. In such accidents, the responsibility of compensation lies entirely with the airline company. But if a case is of a very large scale, which can be seen as a national disaster, then the government can announce compensation for the victims and for the earners.
