Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh government has issued instructions to the Shikshamitras working in the state’s council schools to return to their original schools. The Basic Education Department will soon start the process in this regard. This step is considered to be a significant change in the education system of the state, which will have a widespread impact.
There are currently about 1.43 lakh Shikshamitra working in the state, out of which about 20 to 25 thousand Shikshamitra are serving in the council schools. Under the new system, they have been instructed to return to their original schools. Its purpose is being said to be better management of teachers and promoting teaching quality in schools.
The deployment of Shikshamitras in council schools was going on for many years, due to which the teaching work in those schools continued smoothly. But over time, the Education Department has decided that Shikshamitras should be strengthened by the schools by returning to their original schools. This will not only do better coordination of teachers, but students will also get stable and quality education.
The required guidelines and help will be provided by the department soon for the teachers who are affected by this return of Shikshamitras, so that there is no obstruction in their re-appointment process. Along with this, care will also be taken that the interests of Shikshamitras are preserved and they can easily adjust to their original school.
