Apple breakfast cake

Ingredients

60g oats

Two tablespoons of vanilla yoghurt

One apple

Half a teaspoon of cinnamon

One-third of a teaspoon of baking powder

Four tablespoons of boiling water

Method

Start by preheating your air fryer to 200C before getting on with slicing the apple.

Pour boiling water and oats into an ovenproof dish and stir to thicken. Add the yoghurt, cinnamon, and baking powder.

Place the ovenproof dish in the air fryer for 10 minutes. Then, once ready, it's optional to serve with additional yoghurt and icing sugar.

If you would prefer to make the apple breakfast cake in the oven, preheat the oven to 200C and let the porridge mixture bake for around 25 minutes.

Laura said the breakfast cake "can be eaten straight away or the following day, cold or warmed up".

She adds that her nutritious breakfast makes a "cosy start to the day" and has no eggs, flour or butter - perfect for those who may otherwise have a food intolerance.

Many praised Laura for her recipe, which she shared on her Instagram page, with people saying the breakfast cake tasted "amazing".

People were curious, however, if they could add protein powder to the mix; Laura replied: "I don't see why not!"
