Know what is black box

Black box is actually a group of two devices – flight data recorder (FDR) and Cockpit Voice Records (CVR). Their color is orange so that they can be easily discovered after an accident.

  • FDR records technical information to aircraft such as speed, height, engine status and other important data.
  • The CVR pilot collects the conversation between the cockpit members and the air traffic control.

The black box of the aircraft reveals the situation before the accident, which gives information that the cause of the accident was technical fault, the pilot’s fault or any external cause. The black box is quite strong and can tolerate a temperature of 1100 ° C, 6000 meters of sea depth and heavy shaking. Also, it keeps sending signals continuously for 30 days, which helps to find it.
