Who can apply

Different qualifications have been prescribed for applying to the Indian Coast Guard as per the post.

To apply for the post of Sailor (General Duty), candidates must have passed class XII in Mathematics and Physics subjects.

To apply for the post of Sailor (Domestic Branch), the candidate must have passed class tenth.

To apply for the post of Mechanical, candidates should have passed class 10th/12th along with a two to four-year diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, or Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering.

Age Limit
The minimum age of candidates willing to apply for any post is 18 years and maximum age is 21 years. However, SC/ST candidates will be given five years relaxation in age limit and OBC candidates will be given three years relaxation in age limit.

How much salary will be given

Candidates selected in Indian Coast Guard will be given salary scale as per the post. The candidate selected for the post of Sailor (General Duty) and Sailor (Domestic Branch) will be given a salary of Rs 21,700 per month and the candidate selected for the post of Mechanical will be given a salary of Rs 29,200 per month.
