In the movie Karisma Kapoor portrayed Zubeidaas life on screen very well and also garnered praise. Manoj Bajpayee is also in the movie. He played the role of Maharaja Vijayendra Singh. The special thing is that the screenplay of this film was written by none other than Zubeidaas real-life son writer and filmmaker Khalid Mohammad. He formed a party and took the initiative to contest elections. One day when he was about to go to the election campaign Zubeidaa also insisted on going with him. The Raja did not want to take Zubeidaa along but she was adamant. It is said that the king himself was very fond of flying planes. But the night before the accident he could not sleep properly. The plane crash happened while going for an election campaign It was the ill-fated morning of 26 January 1952. The plane in which Raja and Zubeidaa flew crashed in Godwar Rajasthan. Both of them died in this accident. Shyam Benegals film on the plane crash is considered notable which is mentioned many times. It became a cult classic. It shows that the actress had to face difficulties from her people while fulfilling her ambitions on many fronts. Shyam Benegal has presented the companionship shown by Karisma Kapoor and Rekha in their roles as the two wives of Manoj Bajpayee who played the king very well.
