The team journalist Liïc tan has refuted reports in Turkey of an AS Monaco bid for Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir (29).
It is no secret that Monaco are in the market for a new No.1 this summer. The club’s CEO Thiago Scuro has already made it clear that they are looking to recruit in this position. Whilst Cakir is an option, he is not the priority option, Tanzi understands.
The The team journalist did not specify who Monaco’s priority target is, however, he did state that a deal to sign him would be difficult. The Principality club have also been linked with moves for Djordje Petrovic, who looks set to leave Chelsea after a strong loan spell at RC Strasbourg Alsace, and OGC Nice’s Marcin Bulka.
Cakir looks to be the plan B for Monaco. However, the Ligue 1 side are yet to submit an offer amid interest from three other clubs: Burnley, PSV Eindhoven, and Galatasaray.
